With tons of community spirit and a vibrant culture, there is always something fun happening, no matter the time of the year. Highlighting a few local gems below, Mundelein features some incredible local breweries, farmers’ markets, art fairs, and so much more.

Mundelein Farmers Market at Santa Maria del Popolo Church

If you find yourself with a free Friday during the summer, the Mundelein farmers’ market transforms the Santa Maria del Popolo church into a fun and lively market. Stalls are filled with locally grown produce, meat, eggs, and baked goods. You will even find vendors selling their handmade treats, art, clothing, and more.

The Chicago Tribune did an article on this market a few years back, stating, “The market features a variety of products, including baked goods, pasta, honey, fresh eggs, natural soaps, craft beer, and services like bicycle repair and knife sharpening. Area markets pick up steam over the summer and early fall as fresh produce, cheeses, flowers, and eventually pumpkins reach maturity at area farms, said John Davidson, of Twin Garden Farms. If you’re interested in fresh, locally grown food and supporting small businesses, you won’t want to miss the farmers’ market.

Tighthead Brewing Company

A hot spot for beer enthusiasts, Tighthead is Mundelein’s very own local brewery, which serves up well-known craft beer and bar food. The menu is always changing, rotating in and out seasonal beers and food for all. They also host a plethora of events, from trivia nights to pop-up food trucks to live music. People from all over the suburbs come to visit Mundelein specifically to go to Tighthead. Some craft beers they have on tap right now include Pitcher of Nectar, a New England-style IPA, and We Be Yammin, a sweet potato ale.

Liquid Love Brewing

Another local watering hole, Liquid Love, is a hidden gem of Mundelein; its brand puts an emphasis on experimentation and creating and selling unique beers and drafts. Their menu changes constantly, but there will always be something for everyone. Ranging from light beers like ales and sours to stouts and IPAs, this place is ideal for someone who wants to try it all.

Kracklauer Park and the Mundelein Fine Arts Festival
